今季より新たに展開する、天然藍を用いた「AIZOME INDIGO」シリーズ。かねてより藍染の展開を模索していましたが、私たちが大切にしたかったのは、靴下づくりと同様に、同じ奈良の地で職人と顔を合わせ、対話を重ねながらものづくりを行うことでした。そのなかで出会ったのが、藍の栽培から蒅（すくも）づくり、染色までを一貫して手がける奈良の藍染工房「INDIGO CLASSIC（インディゴ・クラシック）」です。第一弾となる今回は、「藍染×ウール」をテーマに展開。〈ROTOTO〉のスタンダードアイテムである「R1110COTTON WAFFLE CREW SOCKS」のスタイルをベースに、素材にはリサイクルウールとリサイクルコットンの混紡糸を使用。 職人の手により一点一点染め上げられたソックスは、天然藍ならではの深い色彩と表情が魅力です。使い込むほどに変化していく、藍染特有の風合いをお楽しみください。

【藍染製品を長くご愛用いただくために】

・天然藍染の特性上、摩擦や紫外線により、色落ちや色移りが生じることをご理解ください。特に湿った状態での摩擦は色移りが発生しやすくなります。合わせる靴や衣類などに十分にご注意ください。

・ご使用2～3回目までのお手入れは、中性洗剤でやさしく手洗いしてください。色移りを避けるため、お洗濯の際には単独で洗濯用ネットに入れ、弱水流での洗いと日陰での自然乾燥をおすすめいたします。漂白剤や乾燥機のご使用についてもなるべくお控えいただくことで、より長きにわたって風合いをお楽しみいただけます。

The "AIZOME INDIGO" series, which uses natural indigo, is a new addition this season. We had long been exploring the possibility of developing indigo-dyed products, and what we wanted to prioritize was creating products in Nara, just like we do with our socks, by meeting with artisans face-to-face and engaging in dialogue with them throughout the manufacturing process. It was during the process when we came across INDIGO CLASSIC, an indigo dyeing atelier in Nara that handles everything from cultivating indigo plants to making sukumo (indigo dye paste) and dyeing the indigo dyes themselves. This first collaboration project is themed around ‘indigo dyeing x wool.’ Based on the style of ROTOTO's classics, R1110COTTON WAFFLE CREW SOCKS, the material used is a blend of recycled wool and recycled cotton yarn. Each pair of socks is hand-dyed by skilled artisans, and the appeal lies in the deep colors and appearances unique to natural indigo dye. Enjoy the unique texture of indigo dyeing, which changes the more you wear it.

Handling of indigo-dyed products

・Please understand that due to the characteristics of natural indigo dyeing, color fading and color transfer may occur by friction and ultraviolet light.

・Color transfer is especially likely to occur when the item is wet. Please pay close attention to the material of the clothing and shoes you pair them with.

・After the first two or three uses, please wash gently by hand with a mild detergent.

・When using a washing machine, wash them separately in a laundry net and on a gentle cycle.

・Please avoid using bleach or a dryer. Air drying in the shade is recommended.
